tragedy

"The essence of dramatic tragedy is not unhappiness.
It resides in the solemnity of the remorseless working of things.
This inevitableness of destiny can only be illustrated in terms of human life by incidents which in fact involve unhappiness.
For it is only by them that the futility of escape can be made evident in the drama"

- Whitehead

Tragedy of the commons is a yin-yang ball demo using existence and non-existence for black and white.
The "yet each man kills the thing he loves" of economics.

In Agent Smith's words :

Every mammal on this planet instinctively develops a natural
equilibrium with the surrounding environment. But you humans
do not. You move to an area and you multiply and multiply until
every natural resource is consumed and the only way you can survive
is to spread to another area.
